Robert A. Petteruti

Robert Petteruti is currently a Private Investor and Asset Manager.  Mr. Petteruti had been a Vice President of Zebra Technologies (NASDAQ:  ZBRA), and General Manager of the Mobile Printer Division.   Zebra is the world’s leading provider of bar code printer products and solutions. 

Prior to Zebra, Mr. Petteruti was President, Director, and a major shareholder of Comtec Information Systems, Inc.  Acquired in 1989 by Mr. Petteruti and several others when the company was only several million dollars in annual sales and focused on the declining paper tape industry, Comtec changed its strategic focus and pioneered the development of the mobile bar code printer.  Within 10 years the company was the world market share leader with over 500,000 units sold around the world and 70 of the top 100 retailers as customers.  In 2000 Comtec was acquired by Zebra.

In 1986, Mr. Petteruti was a co-founder of Infoplus, Inc. which was a publisher of 14 technology-enhanced yellow page directories.  Mr. Petteruti played a central role in sales, marketing, strategic planning and as CFO was instrumental in raising more than $27 million of debt and equity financing over a period of 14 months.  This startup ramped to over $40M in annual sales by the second full year of operations and was acquired by a national yellow page publisher in 1989. 

Prior to Infoplus, Mr. Petteruti worked for Hewlett-Packard from 1981 – 1984 and had responsibility for marketing and sales of mini-computer systems and some of the first PCs.

Mr. Petteruti received his Bachelor of Science in 1981 in Applied Mathematics & Economics from Brown University and his MBA in 1986 from the Harvard Business School.
